Odds shortening and rumours swirling about high-profile Premier League manager sacking

Bookies have shortened their odds on Chelsea boss Antonio Conte getting the sack after a flurry of bets today.

Chelsea currently lie seventh in the Premier League table but with just seven games played so far, it seems ludicrous to suggest that the new manager’s position could be in doubt

The Sun reported this afternoon that Conte has been at Stamford Bridge today, while the players attended training at Cobham. But other than that the rumours appear to be based on nothing more than betting patterns.

Conte is the twelth manager Chelsea have had in 16 years.

Some online commentators have rubbished the rumours ...

… while many Chelsea fans have expressed dismay at the suggestion of losing a highly respected manager.
