Ireland v USA as told by USA Soccer Guy

By Steve Neville

Last night we speculated that watching Ireland take on the US while watching USA Soccer Guy update his thoughts on Twitter may make for entertaining viewing.

And it did.

Firstly, the game was very enjoyable from an Irish perspective - Robbie Brady netted a brace and new boy David McGoldrick put in a staring display in the 4-1 win.

Secondly, Soccer Guy was at his usual tweeting best.

He opened by speculating that one of Ireland’s most recognised products may sway a World Cup bid in our favour.

He felt Ireland’s first may have been a down to luck.

His emotions got the better of him when the US equalised.

By the time Ireland had regained a comfortable lead, he was questioning his coach’s position.

At full time, Soccer Guy may have slightly over exaggerated the importance of the result.

But it’s safe to say, we’ll have his support going forward.

Here’s to those Big Irish Guys.
