Limerick FC are through to the EA Sports Cup semi-finals after claiming a 2-0 win over Galway United at the Markets Field tonight.

Paudie O'Connor scored the opening goal for the runaway First Division leaders in the 27th minute when he latched onto a deflected free-kick to score past Galway keeper Kevin Horgan.

Shane Duggan made sure of the win for the home side just minutes after the restart.

The win means that Limerick join Derry City, Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick's Athletic in the last-four.
