O’Connell will ply his trade in the Top 14 next season following his high profile move to French club Toulon.
With the Rugby World Cup firmly on the horizon, O’Connell will be pivotal to Ireland’s hopes of a successful run in the tournament.
The IRFU permitted their captain to cut short his Munster contract to pursue his move to the European Cup winners.
