Dave Kilcoyne scored his first international try in the game against Georgia this afternoon, but was more interested in praising his team-mates and the collective effort than taking individual credit.
The Munster prop said he was delighted to be able to finish off great work by captain Eoin Reddan and others in the build-up to the score.
"I was happy to get at the end of it, Reddan took a great line and great lines by the forwards," he said, and described it as a great day for himself and his watching family.
"Any time you're representing your country it's a big honour. My whole family were there today, it's a big occasion for them and a huge occasion for me, and it's a big honour."
This was Kilcoyne's fourth try in four games, after three for Munster, and he was asked was it something he had worked on in particular.
"Not at all, I think you just gotta buy into the system, it's a collective effort," he said.
"We've a saying here, 'you try and make everyone's job easier'. That's the goal, you work as hard as you can to make the job of the player beside you easier, that's what we'll all try and do."
The Limerick native said the side didn't allow themselves to become disheartened when they only led by 9-0 at half-time, as they had always expected Georgia to put up a strong fight.
"If you look at Georgia and any of their games against Tier 1 nations they stick in there for 50-60 minutes and it's only at the end teams tend to break them," he said.
"That was pretty evident again tonight, they're a really physical side , especially their maul contest and scrum. We knew it would take that, we just had to back our fitness."
He said the team were delighted to add another win to the victory over South Africa last weekend.
"It was good to get a win, especially backing up the South Africa win," said Kilcoyne.
"After the high of last week it would be easy to get lost and maybe not prepare as well as you should, but I think everyone did, and I think the collective played well today."
Kilcoyne reserved particular praise for Dave Foley, who made his senior Ireland debut today and was named Man of the Match.
"Dave Foley in my opinion is a world class line-out operator and I think that shone through tonight again."
