Paschal Pape has apologised to Ireland’s Jamie Heaslip for kneeing him in the back during last weekend’s RBS Six Nations game in the Aviva Stadium.
The French second row received a yellow card for the incident, which took place during the second half of the match.
Heaslip remained on the pitch for several minutes, but was clearly in pain and was eventually replaced.
Pape took to Twitter yesterday to apologise for the incident. Translated his tweet said he was truly sorry for hurting Heaslip and had not intended to injure him.
Sincèrement désolé d'avoir blessé @jamieheaslip sur cette action de jeu, pas du tout l'intention de lui faire mal. #objectivitépourcertains

He is definitely out of Ireland’s next Six Nations game - the crucial match against England on March 1. He is also a doubt for the two remaining games against Wales and Scotland.
Pape has been cited for the incident and will appear in front of a three-judge disciplinary committee later today.
