Jockey Karen Kenny 'doing remarkably well' after horror fall at Tramore

Jockey Karen Kenny is expected to make a full recovery as she continues her rehabilitation from a horror fall at Tramore earlier this month.

The 7lb claimer was knocked unconscious when she was unshipped from Our Pearl two furlongs from home in a mile-and-a-half maiden and was airlifted to Cork University Hospital.

A brain scan revealed a “small subdural haemorrhage”, but she has reportedly made good progress since then.

Dr Adrian McGoldrick, senior medical officer for the Irish Turf Club, told At The Races: “Karen is very good. She’s doing remarkably well.

“She’s obviously got a long road ahead of her, but I think she’ll make a full recovery, which is great news.”
