The 150th Irish Derby takes place tomorrow afternoon at the Curragh and the favourite Jack Hobbs has all the attributes of a Derby winner.
Aidan O’Brien has dominated the race in recent seasons, but there is every chance that the main prize will be for export tomorrow evening.
Jack Hobbs has been a model of consistency and has rock solid claims in the big race. He has finished runner-up to his stable mate Golden Horn in both the Dante and the English Derby.
John Gosden trained this brilliant duo and just a few lengths separated the pair in the English Derby at Epsom.
Surprisingly, this brilliant trainer is trying to win the race for the very first time. Interestingly Gosden revealed that a slightly softer surface will not hinder this brilliant colt.
“We would appreciate a shower of two and something close to good ground but we are pleased
with the horse.”
