This afternoon’s meeting at Ayr goes ahead after the track passed a morning inspection.

Clerk of the course Emma Marley had planned to check the track at 7.30am but she brought that inspection forward and was able to give the go-ahead.

She tweeted: “Racing goes aheadayrracecourse today. 5mm rain past 24hrs. F’cast mild,cloudy,scattered showers.All rail on bends moved out over damage.”
