Wozniacki beaten in Tokyo final by Swiss teenager Bencic

Swiss teenager Belinda Bencic beat top seed Caroline Wozniacki to book a place in the Toray Pan Pacific Open final.

The 18-year-old world number 15 beat the Dane for the fourth match in a row, winning 6-2 6-4 in Tokyo.

Bencic, who converted four of her 10 break point opportunities compared to Wozniacki’s one of four, said: “It’s amazing to be in the final.

“It’s really just beautiful here, so to make the final here is really exciting. I’m feeling very good right now.”

Bencic added on the WTA tour’s official website: “I knew I had to be focused well from start to finish today. And I was playing some very good games on my serve – I tried to not let her break me.”

Number eight seed Bencic will face number seven seed Agnieszka Radwanska in Sunday’s final.

The Pole defeated unseeded Slovakian Dominika Cibulkova 6-4 6-1.
