WATCH: Mongolian coaches strip off in protest at Olympic decision

This is one way to make your feelings known.

The Mongolian wrestling coaches were incensed with a judging decision on the final day of the Rio Olympics and they showed their displeasure by stripping off in the stadium.

Head coach Tserenbaatar Tsogtbayar and his assistant Byambarenchin Bayaraa stripped their clothes off in protest after their athlete, Ganzorigiin Mandakhnaran, lost the Olympic bronze medal match.

Mandakhnaran initially appeared to have won, but the result was reversed when the judges awarded a penalty point to his opponent, Uzbekistan’s Ikhtiyor Navruzov, after the match had ended.

Mandakhnaran was leading the freestyle wrestling by seven points to six but he celebrated too soon, dancing around his opponent for the last seconds of the fight.

The judges penalised him for not engaging in the fight and the medal went to Navruzov.

“This was a protest. There was a problem with the refereeing,' Bayaraa said afterwards.

“Three million people in Mongolian waited for this bronze medal and now we have no medal.”

Unfortunately for the Mongolian team the protest didn’t lead to any change in the result but it certainly grabbed headlines around the world.
