Richie Towell won't be going to the Premier League with Brighton

Richie Towell won't be moving up to the Premier League with Brighton next season.

Seagulls manager Chris Hughton has signalled his intention to loan the former Dundalk star out to a Championship club next season.

Towell has found game time at Brighton hard to come by starting only two FA Cup ties since swapping Oriel Park for the Am-Ex 18-months ago.

Speaking about Towell to the newspaper The Argus, Houghton said:

"We have been really delighted with Richie but we are very keen for him to get out on loan to the Championship next season."

Towell won back-to-back league titles with Dundalk in 2014 and 2015, scoring 25 league goals in the '15 season, earning him the move to Brighton.
