Phil Mickelson’s tee shot went badly astray on the fifth hole at the Barclays yesterday, and ended up in the hospitality tent overlooking the course.
Another golfer would have taken the drop shot but not Phil. He called to the crowd to establish the ball was there and up he went.
The golf fans were delighted to find themselves a lot closer to the action than they expected as Mickelson took his shot in between tables of beer and a crowd of watching supporters.
It would be really great to report he put it on the green from the tent but unfortunately the ball landed in a bunker and Mickelson finished with a bogey for the hole.
Still, nicely done.
