The television match official who had the final word on the try that allowed France to win the Six Nations title on Saturday says he has no regrets about his decision.

Simon McDowell, the managing director of a chemical company in Larne, Co Antrim, says the ruling was his toughest ever call.

Even his nine-year-old son Rob believed he made a mistake, he says, along with several of his friends, who phoned him afterwards.

However, Mr McDowell is sticking by what he calls the biggest decision of his career.
