Inspection due at Lingfield tomorrow

Tomorrow's meeting at Lingfield is subject to an 8.15am inspection due to the threat of waterlogging.

Clerk of the course Neil Mackenzie Ross covered the track due to the forecast cold spell but he is now more concerned about the prospect of rain today.

He said: "Obviously we have covered the track due to the threat of frost, but there are no problems underneath.

"We don't expect frost to be a problem but the concern is how much rain we get this afternoon.

"We've had bits and pieces of rain through in the last week and it is pretty wet underfoot out there.

"With the covers on it is difficult to ascertain how it looks underneath, but we're hopeful we can manage or work around whatever rain we get."
