John Peterson, we salute you.
The Texan was propping up the scoreboard on the final day of the CIMB Classic in Malaysia.
Peterson clearly decided he had nothing to lose and teed off with a strike reminiscent of Adam Sandler’s most famous creation.
Peterson posted a clip of the shot, captioned: “Let it be known that if you happy Gilmore off the first tee on Sunday you always shoot 6 under”.
Incredibly, he made par on the hole and went on to shoot 66 for the round - his best score of the week.
He still came last mind you, but at least he came last in style.
In case you haven’t seen the film in a while, this is the scene that inspired him.
