The Kerry players received an extra present at their All-Ireland medals presentation last weekend - every member of the squad and the management and backroom team were also given a Championship ring.
According to the Irish Examiner, the idea was first suggested by team member Kieran Donaghy, who is a big fan of US sports.
A local jeweller was commissioned to design the rings and they were sponsored by a local garage.
Donaghy was certainly pleased with his new jewellery.
Thanks @johnrossjewellers and @kellihersgarage for sponsoring the fab hand crafted rings for us last night. #classy pic.twitter.com/2EchPJOCbP

And others seemed to like them too.
@starryboy14 @kellihersgarage Very 'Super Bowl winner' like. Nice touch.

What do you think? An idea that could catch on around the country, or is the GAA a little too old-school to start handing out jewellery?
