Tough draw for Cork following victory in Longford

The round 4A and 4B qualifier draws for the Senior Football Championship took place this morning and Cork were handed a very tricky fixture as reward for their win against Longford on Saturday.

Peadar Healy’s men will have to face beaten Ulster finalists Donegal to progress, while Mayo were drawn against Westmeath in the 4B draw.

The 4A draw involved the winners from Round 3A in one bowl (Clare and Derry) and the beaten Munster and Connacht provincial finalists (Tipperary and Roscommon) in another.

Clare drew Roscommon leaving Derry the opposition for Tipperary.

The 4A fixtures are due to be played next weekend with the 4B fixtures set for a week later.

Home advantage will not apply for these fixtures with the games to be played at neutral venues. Confirmation of home venues, times and all dates for the fixtures will be confirmed following a meeting of the GAA Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) later today.
