Clare's Podge Collins has confirmed he will play only inter-county hurling in the coming year.
The dual star featured for both the Banner's hurling and football teams this year after focusing on football in 2015.
He has since confirmed to Clare FM that will commit solely to the hurling team for the next 12 months.
The station reported that Collins had previously said he would not continue his dual mandate, but wished to wait until Cratloe's championship run had ended before deciding between football and hurling.
The Clare football squad, managed by Podge’s father Colm, won the 2016 Division Three League title and reached the All-Ireland quarter final but will have to prepare for next season without the 24-year-old.
