Appeal to Irish Rail to ensure transport for Mayo fans as semi-final sells out
Irish Rail's being asked to ensure there are enough trains for Mayo GAA supporters to travel to the All-Ireland football semi-final on Sunday week.
The match between Mayo and Dublin on Sunday August 30 is a sell-out, the first Championship sell-out in Croke Park so far this year.

Mayo Fine Gael TD and Chairman of Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications, John O'Mahony has also asked the rail company to ensure everyone who wants to travel by train can get a seat.

“This is a huge game that has captured the interest of Mayo people and for many of them rail is the only option for travelling to Dublin,” O’Mahony said “It is crucial the sufficient specials trains and extra carriages are put in place to cope with the increased demand.
“The game is a sell out and the demand for tickets is on a par with an All-Ireland final.”
Irish Rail says three extra trains are being put on before and after the All Ireland football semi-final on Sunday week for Mayo fans.
The company says it expects they'll be sold out well in advance - and is advising Mayo supporters to book their travel in advance to be guaranteed a seat.
No tickets for the trains will be sold on the day.
