The Antrim Senior hurling panel have released a statement taking full responsibility for their relegation from Division 1B of the Allianz Hurling Leagues last weekend.

Manager Kevin Ryan came in for a lot of criticism after the game, but the panel released the following statement on the Antrim GAA website last night.

“We the Antrim senior hurling panel fully support our manager Kevin Ryan. We take full responsibility for our recent performances.

“Our relegation has hurt no one more than this group of players. We will strive to improve and move forward as proud Antrim hurlers towards championship.”

The website added that Antrim County Board Chairman Jim Murray also fully supported the hurling management team.

Antrim now prepare for the opening stages of the Leinster Championship campaign in early May.
