Wahlberg set to star in 'Transformers 4'

Actor Mark Wahlberg is to star in the Transformers franchise’s fourth film.

After previously squashing rumours that Wahlberg, 41, was joining the film franchise about warring robots, director Michael Bay called him the “perfect guy to reinvigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy” in a post on his blog.

'Transformers 4' will be released by Paramount Pictures on June 27 2014.

The first three movies starred Shia LaBeouf and featured Peter Cullen as the voice of Autobot general Optimus Prime.
