The Wanted set to star in reality TV show

Boy band The Wanted are following in the footsteps of fellow British act The Saturdays, with their own reality show for US TV which programme bosses say will be full of “music, bromance and superstardom”.

Cameras will follow the quintet – 24-year-olds Max George, Siva Kaneswaran and Tom Parker, along with Jay McGuinness, 22, and Nathan Sykes, 19 – as they head to California to record their third album and prepare for their US tour.

The show, provisionally called 'The Wanted Life', will also feature Kaneswaran’s girlfriend Nareesha McCaffrey and Parker’s girlfriend Kelsey Hardwick, and focus on their life together in their new home in the Hollywood Hills.

It is to be screened on the E! network, which has also made 'Chasing The Saturdays' about the girl group.

Suzanne Kolb, president of E!, said: “The rock star lifestyle is something that everyone has fantasised about and The Wanted are giving viewers total access into their world as they live out this dream.

“This series is a perfect blend of music, bromance and superstardom chronicling the lives of one of music’s biggest groups as they continue to make their mark on the global stage.”

Executive producer Ryan Seacrest said: “America has a long history of falling for British bad boy musicians, so it’s no surprise that The Wanted are already beloved by legions of fans far and wide.

“This talented and outspoken English-Irish band are setting their own course to fame and this journey is the foundation of the series. It’s a road that’s bound to include irresistible pop tracks along with plenty of humour, antics and drama behind-the-scenes, which I believe will further ignite fascination and even obsession with these guys.”

The series will get its US premiere in June, with screenings further afield in the autumn.
