Six ways Love/Hate season six could play out

As we wake up on the dawn of last night's Love/Hate season finale, on what shall now be known as an ‘International day of mourning’, the question on everyone’s lips is “Will there be a season six?”

To our excitement Love/Hate creator Stuart Carolan has quashed rumours that the fifth series of Love/Hate will be the last and is currently developing plot-lines for the sixth series.

"We are developing a sixth series at the moment so it's not over, no," he told the Herald.

"But RTE could turn around and say 'We don't want it' - you never know."

Head of drama at RTÉ, Jane Gogan has responded to this by saying “That decision is yet to be made”.

But after what might have been the most epic display of Irish television drama to hit our screens, where could they possibly go from here?

We have a few ideas …

1. Tommy wakes up and in true Wizard of Oz style claims it was all a dream.

Surrounded by his loved ones Tommy wakes up to a cold can of fizzy orange and the news that Siobhan has a brand new puppy at home waiting for him.

“And you were there … and you were there”

2. Aido and Nadine do a comedy spinoff show

Aido and Nadine join forces and establish a high quality cleaning company that specializes in fish tanks and bed side crate tables.

And we’re thinking it might just go a little like this …

3. Trish takes the reins

With backcomb brush and leopard print in tow, Trish takes over from Nidge - before she carpets the stairs and changes the wallpaper of course.

A possible Trish and Detective Madden storyline?

YES!

4. Nidge isn't dead.

It turns out Nidge was wearing a vest and lives to rule another series.

Remember when we all thought it was the end for Darren and he lived? And 50 cent has been shot nine times?

If we all just wish really hard.

Who knows he might even change his life around and swap the drug trade from some custom embroidery classes.

5. Elmo creates an army of garden gnomes and takes over the Dublin drugs trade.

Could you say no to a gnome? I know we couldn't.

It's just ingenious!

6. Warren gets his revenge.

Between the nits and last night’s shocking incident we have a feeling Warren has some pent-up anger.

Flash forward 10 years to Warren using his communion money to invest in the ultimate 'nits-be-gone formula', which ultimately will make him multi millionaire so he can form a new gang to get the revenge he has always wanted on Patrick and his family.

“All hail King Warren”

What do you think is in store for the gang?
