Pierce Brosnan tried to bring a knife on a plane

Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan was stopped by airport security as he tried to board a plane with a knife.

The 62-year-old was stopped by US Transportation Security Administration agents with the blade, reportedly a ten-inch hunting knife, in his hand luggage.

The Navan native who appeared as 007 in four of the double agent series including GoldenEye and Die Another Day, was allowed to continue his journey through Burlington International Airport in Vermont after the issue was resolved, according to Lieutenant Shawn Burke of the local police department.

In images apparently showing the incident on Sunday, Brosnan is seen removing his belt in the security area and speaking to staff.

The Mrs Doubtfire actor returned to his roots last month and wrote in an Instagram post: “Good bye my sweet home of Ireland that I can call you now after all these years abroad a wandering.”
