New Strokes album due on March 25

The Strokes new album, 'Comedown Machine', will be released on March 25.

The New York rockers' fifth studio album will follow their 2011 record 'Angles' and the band have also released details of the first single from the album, 'All The Time'.

A fan of the musicians discovered the album title and artwork while they were on user-generated news website Reddit trying to work out the band's website code.

The user - known as Andersonenvy - explained: "Well, basically - when people make websites they sometimes test them live online and try to hide it. But it's not hidden enough to other people that can also make websites."

The Strokes - Julian Casablancas, Nick Valensi, Albert Hammond, Jr., Nikolai Fraiture and Fabrizio Moretti - surprised fans when they released a new track, 'One Way Trigger', last week as a free download.

It was confirmed last year the band were working on a new record by guitarist Albert's father, Albert Hammond Sr.

He said: "Albert says the stuff they're doing is incredible. They're doing it themselves with their friend, engineer and producer. He just says, 'Dad, it's incredible'."
