Joni Mitchell 'recovering' from aneurysm
Singer Joni Mitchell is expected to make a full recovery from the aneurysm she suffered in March, a friend has said.
Leslie Morris provided the first significant details on Mitchell’s health in the months since an ambulance was sent to her Los Angeles house to take her to hospital.
In a statement on the singer’s website, she said: “Joni did in fact suffer an aneurysm. However, details that have emerged in the past few days are mostly speculative.
“The truth is that Joni is speaking, and she’s speaking well. She is not walking yet, but she will be in the near future as she is undergoing daily therapies. She is resting comfortably in her own home and she’s getting better each day. A full recovery is expected.”
Fans are encouraged in the statement to leave their best wishes for Mitchell on a dedicated facebook comments page called weloveyoujoni.com.
Ms Morris was appointed Mitchell’s legal conservator – a US term for someone who will act as guardian and protector – last month when a judge decided the singer could not make healthcare decisions for herself.
Mitchell is a member of the rock Hall-of-Fame who has won eight Grammy Awards.
