Goulding set for Prince Harry birthday party

Ellie Goulding is to perform at Prince Harry's 30th birthday bash.

The event - which is being staged at Clarence House tonight - comes three days after the blonde singer starred at the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games in London, which the flame-haired royal helped to organise, at which she was seen giving the prince a big hug.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Kate knows Harry is a big fan of Ellie and wanted her to be part of the evening. It's a huge compliment for her, especially because she is such a fan of Harry and all the work he does.

"Ellie said yes straight away and has agreed to perform whatever Harry fancies on the night.

"It's going to be a really intimate acoustic set. Harry will love it."

The event was reportedly delayed because Duchess Catherine - formerly known as Kate Middleton before her marriage to Harry's brother Prince William - is currently suffering from severe morning sickness during her second pregnancy.

Speaking at the Invictus Games last weekend, Harry said he intended to celebrate his landmark birthday by enjoying a beer.

He explained: "I'll be chuffed to bits when I'm having a beer with [war veteran] Dave Henson. We're really looking forward to being 30, both feeling quite old about it."
