Enrique Iglesias arrested for obstruction of justice

Enrique Iglesias has allegedly been charged with obstruction and driving with a suspended licence.

The Hero singer is reportedly set to appear in court on July 10 after he was pulled over in Florida on May 6 while driving in a closed express lane on the Interstate 95.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol arrest affidavit, obtained by E! News, the 40-year-old singer "jumped from inside the driver's seat onto the rear passenger's seat," and his male passenger, Abel Tabuyo, "jumped from the front passenger's seat onto the driver's seat," while a police officer approached their vehicle.

Both men were placed in handcuffs while the officer ran their dates of birth and social security numbers through the system.

Enrique was then charged with two misdemeanours, obstruction without violence and driving with a suspended licence, as it had expired.

His friend, who "stated he does not know why he switch seats" with the Heartbeat singer, was also charged with obstruction without violence.

Both men were released after they signed documents to appear in court later this month, but local news station NBC6 claims they have both since pleaded not guilty.

Enrique, who is famously dating Russian tennis player Anna Kournikova, 34, has yet to comment on the allegations.
