Jot down every plotline you’ve ever seen in a Christmas film, throw in all the old chestnut jokes, add a collection of seen-em-all-before characters and you have this seasonal turkey.
We find ourselves in a small New England town where two neighbours try to outdo each other in the festive decorations, so much so that the lights can be seen from space (which is where you wish you were watching the film from).
Everything about this ‘comedy’ – even down to the trite ‘true meaning of it all’ message – is forced and not at all funny.
Roll on Easter!
