Daniel O’Donnell speaks out about the marriage referendum

Daniel O’Donnell has opened up about his views on the marriage referendum this morning on RTÉ One’s Ray D’Arcy’s show.

The Donegal singer revealed he is voting Yes to marriage equality.

“I think everyone should be equal,” he said to the radio presenter before stating that he doesn’t necessarily agree with those who say children should have both a mother and a father.

“I was brought up without a father. My father died before I knew the benefit of a father. It was just my mother.”

Daniel's father, Francis O'Donnell died of a heart attack when O'Donnell was six years old.
