Re Liam Miller testimonial, it is with a certain amount of sadness and, also some anger, that our great sporting organisation has been seen to be intransigent.
I know every organisation has its rules, but there are exceptions to every rule, please remember the old adage: “Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools.” To think that a rule must be obeyed because it is there beggars belief given the exceptional circumstances the testimonial organisers requested.
Please gentlemen, in the cool of the evening, have further thoughts.
I am now in my 88th year and enjoy watching our great games every Saturday and Sunday on TV. To think that we are debarring a
fundraising event in memory of a fellow Corkonian sportsman leaves me with a degree of emptiness.
Please, let wisdom prevail.
