Film beauty Uma Thurman insists her European looks severely hurt her career options because Hollywood has been eager to cast her as a hardened ice queen.

Film beauty Uma Thurman insists her European looks severely hurt her career options because Hollywood has been eager to cast her as a hardened ice queen.

The Kill Bill actress - who was able to showcase her softer appeal in relationship drama PRIME - is tired of being reduced to cliché parts.

She says: "You are so limited in this business by people's perceptions, and I know that a lot of people found me cold in the past.

"I'm not alone in that - there are other ice-blonde, blue-eyed Nordic-looking actresses - but these cliches chase you around and it does get a little boring. 'Oh boy, they want me to play the German wife of the Nazi officer again. Tell them no!'"
