Officials at the Curragh believe the going will be no worse than yielding for the Entenmann’s Irish Guineas meeting this weekend.

Racecourse manager Paul Hensey reported today that the ground had improved in the last 24 hours.

“I walked the course this morning. The ground has improved since yesterday,” he said describing the ground as yielding on the round course and yielding to soft on the straight course.

“There is further rain due tonight and just showers after that.

“I am hoping that the ground will be no worse than yielding for the weekend’s racing.”

Hensey revealed that fresh ground would be saved on Sunday for the Irish 1000 Guineas and the Tattersalls Gold Cup.
