Ferrari’s Michael Schumacher has recorded the fastest time in opening practice for the Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlow this morning.
The German, who currently leads the Drivers’ Championship by 27 points, finished almost 0.3 seconds faster than McLaren’s David Coulthard, with Renault’s Jarno Trulli in third.
Schumacher’s team-mate, Rubens Barrichello, was fourth fastest, ahead of Heinz-Harald Frentzen in the Arrows and the BAR duo of Jacques Villeneuve and Olivier Panis.
