Housewives 'too dark' to pick up Emmy
Desperate Housewives actor James Denton says the hit show is "too dark" for the Emmy nomination of Best Comedy.
The Hollywood hunk, who plays plumber Mike Delfino, believes Desperate Housewives fails to fit comfortably in the funny genre, which is why it missed out.
Denton says: "I don't think the show is a pure comedy or pure drama and last year, particularly, it was very dark. So, when you're nominating yourself or presenting yourself as a comedy, there's certainly funnier shows on television, as a pure comedy."
The Emmy winners will be announced at a ceremony on Sunday.
