Heavy rain has forced Uttoxeter to call an 8am inspection on Friday ahead of Saturday’s meeting.

Parts of the course are waterlogged and clerk of the course Keith Ottesen is expecting further overnight rain.

He said: “The next band of rain is due at midnight and is expected to last through until 6am tomorrow.

“Taking the middle ground, we are forecast five to 10mm but we could get more or less.

“We do have areas of waterlogging and we will inspect at 8am – it’s just fingers crossed really.”
