Connections of Flashy Wings will “give it a few days” before deciding whether the Zafonic filly will go for the Sky Bet Cheveley Park Stakes on September 29.
Mick Channon’s dual Group Two winner lost her unbeaten record at Newbury after Expensive sprinted up the stands rail to score by a neck in the Watership Down Stud Sales Race.
Joe Mercer, racing manager to Flashy Wings’ owner Jaber Abdullah, confirmed the two-year-old is in good order after her exertions at the Berkshire venue.
However, Channon is not likely to make a decision about her participation in the Group One contest at Newmarket until later in the week.
“She’s back in her box and has come out of the race really well as far as I know,” said Mercer.
“It was just one of those things and I thought she put up a fantastic display even though she lost. She likes to hit the front late but there was nothing to go at at the front - it was unfortunate but she’s fine.
“The Cheveley is in mind but there is nothing certain yet. We will give it a few days and see how she is later in the week before deciding what to do with her.”
