James Caan has quit the UK version of ‘Dragons’ Den’.

The 50-year-old entrepreneur has reportedly handed in his resignation after three years on the show because his charitable and business endeavours take up to much of his time.

He is quoted by the Daily Mail newspaper as saying: “My work and philanthropic interests mean I can’t devote the time required to the Den any longer. ‘Dragons’ Den’ has been an integral and exciting part of my professional life, and I thank the show profusely for letting me be a part of it for so long.”

The Pakistan-born self-made millionaire’s departure from the show – which sees a panel of five business people offered investment opportunities by members of the public – comes amid an ongoing feud with fellow panellist Duncan Bannatyne, who has refused to speak to Caan for nine months.

Despite his departure, Caan is set to maintain an involvement with the programme as he is believed to be in talks with Sony to launch a version of the show in Pakistan.
