Lions: Howley and Hill out for last Test

The Lions management team have confirmed that English flanker, Richard Hill and Welsh scrum-half, Rob Howley will miss the final Test in Sydney.

The Lions management team have confirmed that English flanker Richard Hill and Welsh scrum-half, Rob Howley will miss the final Test in Sydney.

The injuries they sustained in the second test game in Melbourne yesterday mean that neither will play any further part in the tour.

Their losses will come as a major blow to the touring side, because both would

have been certain to start next Saturday.

Hill has been one of the star players of the tour so far and he will be missed most.

The management team have confirmed that out-half Jonny Wilkinson has sustained soft tissue bruising to his leg and an assessment on his fitness will be made later this week.

There was some good news for the Northern Hemisphere side, who learnt today that their star centre, Brian O'Driscoll should be fit enough to train by Wednesday despite having to undergo X-rays on his neck after yesterday's bruising encounter.
