The Irish Film Board-backed Intermission, produced by Company of Wolves and Parallel Films, has become the seventh most successful local production at the home Box Office, with a take of over €2.2m.
It beats previous IFB films like The General, Circle of Friends and The Magdalene Sisters and even beat out big Hollywood blockbusters like The Pirates of the Caribbean.
"It's great to see an Irish film strike such a chord with the Irish public and make an impact at the local Box Office against the big Hollywood films," says Irish producer, Alan Maloney.
