Knightley says being single is 'exhausting'

Keira Knightley thinks marriage is "liberating".

The 'Anna Karenina' actress wed Klaxons musician James Righton earlier this year and she admits she loves being married as she found singledom "exhausting".

She explained: "It's so exhausting to be single. When you have committed yourself to someone in an amazing way, it is very liberating. Everything becomes a lot easier."

Keira also reveals that she finds her love life - whether it be heartbreak or joy - as inspiration for her acting work.

Speaking to Britain's HELLO! Magazine, she said: "It depends, but you can get some great stuff out of break-ups and grief. Then you can get some great stuff out of the other side, too. I don't think one is better than the other. I don't think you can forget heartbreak or any of the negative stuff. When you have experienced it, you can always use it."

The 28-year-old beauty stars alongside Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine in new musical drama 'Can a Song Save Your Life?', which often depicts rock stars as self-centred, but she insists her 30-year-old spouse is nothing like the characters in the movie.

She said: "Some are self-centred, I suppose. Not my husband, of course! He's very chilled out."
