Tunisia 1 Nigeria 1 (aet Tunisia win 5-3 on pens)
Bolton’s Jay-Jay Okocha scored a penalty in normal time but Nigeria bowed out of the African Nations Cup as Tunisia booked their place in the final.
The host nation won 5-3 in a penalty shoot-out after the semi-final in Rades finished 1-1 after extra-time.
Okocha, who was made to retake his penalty, opened the scoring after Arsenal striker Kanu was brought down midway through the second half.
But Tunisia captain Khaled Badra equalised from the spot after Zied Jaziri broke into the box and tangled with Oluwaseyi Olofintana.
In the shoot-out, Tunisia goalkeeper Ali Boumnijel saved from Osaze Odemwingie to give the hosts the advantage and Karim Hagul’s penalty proved decisive as Roger Lemerre, the former French manager, booked another final appearance.
