St. Laurence’s 1-13 Moorefield 0-6

St. Laurence's captured their first Kildare SFC title at the fifth attempt, courtesy of a deserved 1-13 to 0-6 win over a fancied Moorefield side at St Conleth's Park in Newbridge.

The 'Larries' failed to disappoint as the men from Old Grange near Narraghmore gave a spirited performance throughout.

Managed by former Laois footballer Mick Lillis, St. Laurence's laid down a firm marker early on with a superb first half display.

The only goal of the game arrived at the start of the second half with brothers Dessie and Ronnie Lawlor combining well before Dessie slotted to the back of the Moorefield net with relative ease.
