A postal worker has been arrested after twice sneaking past security guards and parachuting off a skyscraper in Manhattan.

Donald Mathis landed uninjured on a neighbouring house after his second jump and was promptly arrested and charged with reckless endangerment.

The 33-year-old completed his first jump before ringing his mother in Kentucky to tell her he would have to do it again because no one had noticed.

Elizabeth Mathis said: "It's hard for him to resist when he sees something tall."

She added that her son was a veteran parachutist, having previously jumped off several skyscrapers and bridges in Manhattan.
