Nicole Kidman has been left disappointed after her latest movie Fur was slammed by US critics, all but ending her hopes of gaining a third Oscar nomination.
Kidman, who plays real-life American photographer Diane Arbus in the movie, had believed Fur would be a major contender at the 2007 Academy Awards.
However, following a screening at the Telluride Film Festival, the Wall Street Journal describes Fur as one of the "stinkers" of the Colorado event.
The Hollywood Reporter's Anne Thompson writes: "Fur is not an Oscar contender", while Variety says the film has "far more metaphysical weight than dramatic force".
