The Minister for Agriculture has given the go-ahead for horse racing to resume in this country, providing no further foot-and-mouth cases are confirmed here.
Limited racing can restart from Easter Monday and Minister Walsh said a full fixture list can begin again on Thursday, April 19.
The decision came following a meeting between the Irish Horse Racing Association, the Turf Club and the expert group on foot-and-mouth.
However, point-to-point activity is still prohibited, as it takes place on farmland.
