Crusading actor George Clooney has ruled out running for political office, insisting stories of his promiscuity would shock voters.
Clooney, a staunch campaigner against the genocide in the Sudan and the corruption of oil barons, fears his romantic past would dominate press columns instead of the serious business of policy-making.
"I couldn't run for office," he said. "I have slept with far too many women."
"If I ran for office there would be juicy stories dragged up from the past."
