John Hartson has revealed he could quit Celtic to be closer to his family.
The 30-year-old’s children have returned to his native Wales after he split from wife, Lowri, and he is desperate to be near his them again.
Celtic have already said they have no intention of allowing the striker to leave Parkhead in the summer but his comments could spark a scramble for his signature.
“A move closer to Wales is something I have got to consider at some point,” he said.
“I‘ve got two wonderful children whom I love and miss dearly and being so far away in Scotland is far from ideal.”
Hartson says a move to Swansea, the club he supports, could be on the cards one day.
Speaking in the League One club’s matchday programme, he said: “If you look at Roy Keane, he has fulfilled his dream of playing for his boyhood club.
“He may have come to Celtic near the end of a glittering career but he‘s still come at a time when he can add plenty to the team.
“I would like to do the same to Swansea one day – and when they say you should always go out at the top, Swansea is top for me.”
