Tom Hanks has unveiled the cast of his new movie ‘Larry Crowne’.
The Oscar-winning star - who is directing, producing and starring in the comedy movie – revealed in a message on twitter he will feature alongside Julia Roberts, George Takei and Wilmer Valderrama in the film.
Few other details are known about ‘Larry Crowne’ apart from the fact that the story will tell the tale of a middle-aged man who is forced to seek out a new career.
It has a preliminary release date of 2011.
Hanks has previous directorial experience, helming 1996 music comedy ‘That Thing You Do!’, but since then he has only taken directorial jobs on TV shows, including ‘From the Earth to the Moon’ and ‘Band of Brothers’.
His producing experience is much greater, having worked on 2009’s ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ and ABBA musical ‘Mamma Mia!’ in 2008.
He has a number of movies in the pipeline in the coming months, including ‘Toy Story 3’ later this year and mystery drama ‘The Lost Symbol’ in 2012.
